These are just some of the testimonials I received while being an active Ziglar Trainer.

While being a Ziglar Trainer I did free workshops for over 700 educators, at over 20 schools in my area and donated a Zig Ziglar Biscuits, Fleas and Pump Handles CD to each Teacher.

The Denison Leadership Institute graduates are still singing praises for Chris Ried who presented a light-hearted but motivating commencement address at their graduation ceremony stating this was "a perfect ending for their nine month program giving them the challenge and motivation to make a difference in our community with their newly acquired knowledge".

Chris, FYI - I've still been using the line "I'm interested in doing business with you" when I'm leaving a message, and I'm getting PROMPT return calls on about 90%.

This is saving me a lot of follow-up time & getting me in touch w/ the decision maker a lot quicker. It really works!

Chris, just a short note to say how much I enjoyed meeting you and talking with you at the meeting. Since your visit, I have heard many positive comments about your program. Your nuggets of wisdom and illustrations definitely provided food for thought. You are an inspiring speaker who clearly puts his heart into his work. This has given us a fresh perspective and renewed vitality--and can't we all use that??

On behalf of all NARFE members who had the opportunity to be at our June meeting, thank you again for sharing your time and program with us.

Chris,

All I have received so far were overwhelming responses on how much my team enjoyed your presentation this past evening.

Once again, thanks on my behalf, as well as National Relief Charities, on a job well done………………………………and much appreciated. My staff plans to send you a special thank you that you should be receiving shortly.

Chris

As part of our management plan to emphasize sales associate personal commitment to success and eliminating the roadblocks created from within, we were able to schedule several of your presentations for our 2005 last quarter and year-end Northern Division workshops. Additionally, each associate received for Christmas that year a copy of Zig's "Pumphandles" CD, as my personal gift. At the beginning of 2006, we noticed our listing leaders needed awareness of their important role in our business plan for the year, and again we called on you to lead a luncheon workshop.

It is my belief that your focus helped our entire organization get on track for what turned out to be a changing marketplace in 2006. We thank you for your expertise, enthusiasm and continued involvement with our firm.

Chris,

We had so many favorable comments from your presentation last Wednesday. I know a couple of folks took you up on attending the other presentation, some who were going to bring spouses....that's an endorsement!

Again, many thanks for working with us to provide this valuable seminar for our folks.

Best wishes,

Chris,
The two days spent in sales training were the most beneficial that I have ever experienced in terms of a systematic sales plan. Knowledge is power. Getting the right instruction has given me more confidence in how to handle all the facets of the selling process from the initial contact to the order and follow-up. It has literally changed my whole perspective on how to approach people. It connected the dots for me in terms of how to look at prospects and gave me tools to deal effectively with objections and ask for the business.

Because of this workshop, I am not only equipped with the techniques necessary to sell, but I also understand and can identify behavior peculiar to those to whom I sell. As a result, I am becoming a more effective salesman. I can’t thank you enough for all that you did to put some glue or cement to the building blocks of selling—and in some instances the blocks themselves—for me. I have already begun to use these techniques and am seeing results already.

Hi Chris,
I must truly say, your recent seminar was truly refreshing and very informative.
Even after spending 34 years with a major business industry leader and attending numerous seminars, yours will be one I will always remember.

I truly believe the information shared applies to everyone who is interested in improving their customer relationships, whether inside or outside of sales.

I got to admit though that the selling by design segment was the most beneficial for it helped me understand customer’s needs behavior traits, buying decision process, and objections. And more importantly, how to positively respond to each customer.

When I got home, I kept reviewing the session material ( it says a lot about you and the very applicable info for I generally do a file 13…out of site, out of mind). Not in this case!!!!

The Person, Process, Prospect, Goal Setting material will be life time learning tools; particularly since marketing/sales, and helping people is my passion.

Many thanks for your personal insights, suggestions and answers to our many questions to be a better me!!

Chris,

I really enjoyed your presentation to our staff at in-service. I have been to several of Zig's at coaching school and other such gatherings. I have played his tapes to many of my football teams over the years. Thanks for the CD and pamphlet, it was a good "review!"

Thanks again and best of luck

I heard you speak at our Whitesboro Retreat this summer. I enjoyed it so much. I have the same beliefs about making people feel special. I'm having so much fun surprising people and letting them know what they mean to me. Thanks for seeing the importance of how people need to feel important.

Hi Chris,

My name is Donna Amos, I am the Middle School Counselor in Whitesboro. I loved your presentation at our retreat. I would like to set up for you to come and spend at least one day with our students. We have 6-8 grades. Please let me know about your schedule and programs that are available for MS students.

Chris,
I just wanted to let you how much I enjoyed the training on the DiSC Profile. Learning the information about my personal style was interesting but I especially liked the section on communicating with each style. This information is valuable to me as a counselor as well as in my personal speaking engagements. I also enjoyed your delivery of the information and I noticed that everyone else did as well. Teachers are not easy to train, especially after two days of curriculum training! Thanks for catching and keeping our interest.

I appreciate your willingness to work with our district and am looking forward to the changes that will occur because of our new knowledge. Thank you for the books and CD's you brought for each campus. We will definitely be using it this year.

Thanks,

Barbara Roland, MBS, LPC

Chris, I truly enjoyed your presentation. I went through a divorce at one point in my life. I had a commute in order to see my three kids. I feel like that I can really relate to your situation. Feel free to call me any time if I can be of assistance. Whitesboro is an unusual place. We have a high percentage of kids that come from dysfunctional families. Perhaps, there are some services your company can provide to us some day.

Again, thanks a million,
Ray Lea, Superintendent, Whitesboro ISD

Chris,
I enjoyed your presentation at Whitesboro ISD retreat on Thursday. I am wondering if you do these presentations for students. I will be teaching a speech communication class this year and I think the kids would enjoy the behavioral styles you presented. My class is only 45 minutes long and it is in the afternoon from 1:35 until 2:25. Let me know if this is a possibility and the cost.
Thank you,

Dear Mr. Ried,

Thank you very much for giving up your time to help our B McDaniel staff.

I work in a very hectic environment all day with no breaks except for lunch. I work with over 100 very needy Special Education students. By the time the 3:30 bell rings, I find myself exhausted and just wanting to sit quietly and not have to think for about an hour.

Again, I want to thank you for giving us your time. I know it is just as precious to you as our time is to us.

Sincerely,

Chris,
I really enjoyed the workshop last Wednesday. So much of what you said hit home with me. Even though it was funny, I wouldn't have laughed so much if I didn't identify with so many of the things you said. Since I am not a teacher, but a secretary with two boys at home, I was more impacted with what you had to say about our own families. I want you to know that I made it a point to wake my boys up this morning with a kiss and a rub on the back, instead of flipping the light on and saying in a firm voice "Hurry up and get dressed, we are running late again". I was pleasantly surprised at the rippling affect of this one act. They were actually nice to each other throughout the morning routine. I hope to put more tidbits of knowledge from your workshop into practice, and not just identify with them and then forget them.

I usually listen to music while I am working, but this morning I decided to put in the CD you handed out. It has been playing repeatedly all day which has given all 4 of my student workers exposure to it as well as the opportunity for me to talk about some of the topics with them. I am motivated to put some of my goals down in writing, break them up into practical milestones, and work toward the accomplishment of those goals at a steady pace. I was also motivated by Mr. Ziglar's examples and advice to simply change direction around complications to maintain the course to your goal, instead of giving up or starting over.

I have already thought of several family members and friends I know would benefit from listening to Mr. Ziglar.

Thank you for your time and presentation. It was well worth the time and will continue to make an impact on me as well as my family through me.

Thanks again,

Chris,

Your motivational seminar was very helpful to me. I was having problems with a great deal of depression at the time. I guess at this time of the school year, we get so busy and so burdened with all we have to do that we lose sight of ourselves and the reason we are here. Then, we have things in our personal lives that get us down. Negative people at work and elsewhere keep telling us we aren't worth much and don't know what we are doing. Before long you start to believe it! All of this combined just takes its toll.

You actually helped to brighten our day and cheered us up. We can take a good look inside ourselves and say, "Hey, I'm not as bad as I thought I was or as someone else thought!" or something like that.

I am so sorry it has taken me this long to respond. It's just been too busy. Maybe that's my weakness! I really have a hard time slowing down and telling people "no" when they ask for my help. Well, I will work on that!
Thanks for coming!

Sincerely,

Mr. Ried,

Thank you for taking the time to come to B. McDaniel and speak to us. It seems lately that we need positive attitudes more than ever (it always gets that way near the end of the year). I enjoyed what you had to say very much. I left the workshop feeling very positive and uplifted. I especially enjoyed the book of positive quotes and the DISC test. There is only one suggestion that I might offer. When dealing with educators, please remember that we chose this profession because we wanted to make a difference in the lives of children, not because we expect to have the expensive things in life. While those things must be very nice, and we would certainly like to have them, they simply are not a priority for most of us (at least not a very realistic priority). Right now, with all that is going on in Austin with regards to education, we need to be reminded of the rewards that come with this profession and not be reminded about the money and appreciation we AREN'T getting despite our efforts at "helping others get what they want" (like higher scores on TAKS). Too often we are shown the rewards (largely financial) we COULD have had if we had chosen a different career.

Thank you again for your time and dedication.

Sincerely,
Kellie Matherly

Chris,
Thank you for the workshop at B. McDaniel. I purposefully put off contacting you until I had time to listen to some of the CD.

Unfortunately I do not have a CD in my van, so some extra time was needed to start the CD. I'm one of those who have to analysis and ponder before giving feedback. (an S with a strong C tendency) I am where Zig is speaking about the need to hear things 16 times for something to really make an impact. To be honest there were some times where I almost just quit the CD because I needed facts not just more good stories. But this morning things on the CD started to click in my brain. I appreciate the CD and the sponsors who paid for it because after this morning I see a real need on my part to focus on putting positive thoughts into my life.

I don't know if you saw on TV Sunday a short interview with one of the elderly survivors of the Chilean bus accident over the weekend. He was asked it he thought the victims who died deserved it. His response was that if you asked that question of a tragedy you must also ask it every time something good happens. I'm not sure any of this makes sense, but I see a strong relationship between this attitude and what your organization promotes. I think all too often we take good things for granted and only focus on what we perceive to be bad.

Thank you for your time and the possibility to see life in a different light.

Mr. Ried,

I found your program last Wednesday to be interesting. As teachers we often hear uplifting stories or anecdotes, and while those are good, it's helpful to have the practical nuts-and-bolts how to of it as well.

For instance, how can I use the four "personalities" in my classroom to motivate my students? How can teachers have what they want by helping their students? How can administrators have what they want by helping their faculty?

Also, no one goes into education to make money--and there is no way to make MORE money in education by incorporating the principles of Zig Ziglar. Our success/product--our "money"-- is the growth of our students. I think anecdotes or information directly related to that will be greatly beneficial to teachers. You could spell out for teachers how these principles could make them more successful in their classrooms. Teachers are idealists and we're constantly searching for new ways to reach that unreachable kid, or to motivate students who have the school-blahs. Any information you can offer us in that regard is always welcomed.

I appreciate the cd, book of quotes, and other materials provided to us, as well as the time and efforts made to bring us those products at no cost. I also appreciate your willingness to offer your services freely. We all reap what we sow, and (as you already know) generosity brings in quite a crop.

Many thanks,

Mr. Ried,
My name is Kimberly Gammon and I teach Theater Arts at B. McDaniel.

Since I have a background in Speech/Communication I was very interested in discussing the various communication styles and looked forward to learning how to blend my style with those I encounter in various areas of my life. I enjoyed this part of the seminar very much and it was fun to take the survey and find out that I was right about what style I am. I would've enjoyed learning more about how to blend my style with others. Also, tying the information more into education and what we can do as teachers to help our students recognize and work within their own communication styles would have been interesting.

Thank you for your time and your informative seminar. Good luck with future speaking engagements.

Thank you for coming to B. McDaniel - I thought the workshop was helpful. We get so busy with the day-to-day matters that we need to be reminded of the importance of relationships. One thing you said has really stayed with me: "Failure is an event, not a person."

I was so tired the day you spoke to us. I was up all night the night before worrying about a sick 15 month old. I had just gotten back from the doctor that had told me it was just a cold and the next 7-10 nights would be almost as long. So, I was not in the most positive of moods.

When I left, I felt refreshed and blessed. It is very difficult to keep the kids going this time of year and I realized it was hard to keep me going this time of year, too. I have so much to be thankful for. I have a job that I get to make a difference in the future, 2 awesome step daughters, an incredible son, a loving husband, and the power with in me to have everything I have ever wanted.

Be Blessed!

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your presentation. Sometimes we all need a wake-up call to remind us of what is important.

I said my positive affirmations this morning and will continue for seven days. I listened to my cd this morning on the way to school and one of my students asked me why I was in such a good mood. I guess it does not take a week to start to change our outlook on life. Thanks again and may you continue to change and effect lives in a positive manner.

I just wanted to say thanks again for a great presentation. Sometimes even the chance to sit down and laugh a little is just what it takes to put things in perspective. Dear Chris,

I wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your seminar last week. I had been exposed to the D I S C information before but it was not as entertaining as your version. The most valuable thing you told us about is on the back of your business card. I am in the process of making cards for me to give to students. Thank you for the great insight on my personality and the influencing motivational talk. I came in looking for my card first thing this morning.

I had our youngest son and our foreign exchange student come to hear you yesterday also. Our son is awaiting his acceptance letter from Notre Dame and he needed your uplifting talk too.

I'm looking forward to the lasting effects of My Life Changing Plan as we (my husband and I) begin the search for our place in retirement.

Hello Chris,
I really enjoyed having you come to Houston Elem. last week. Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit with us about improving our attitudes...our lives!

I happened to have been one of the lucky winners of a ZIG motivational CD. I am listening to it right now, at work. I have been struggling with the stress/anxiety of being a first year teacher. I am looking forward to trying out some of the ideas you talked to us about at the workshop...I will let you know how I do! I have always been a very positive person...but this year has taken a toll on my outlook on life.

I know God is in control of my life, and He is working on me daily!

Have a great day,

Thanks again,

Dear Chris,

I would like to personally thank you for coming to Houston Elementary.
I had never heard of Zig Ziglar. I appreciate your excellent introduction to a program that has the potential of making the world a better place.

I just wanted to thank you for the WONDERFUL mini-presentation yesterday at Houston Elem. School. I LOVED it. Especially the part about your son.

I have one of those also, negative, and not too fun to be around. But, my son is 22 years old. I'm going to give him the card and see if he'll do it every day. I'm also going to start sending him little I LIKE BECAUSE cards. He's married and has 3 babies.

I also wanted to see about getting the book about the dog - Conversations with Dogs??? Is that it? I would love to read that.

Thanks again,

Dear Chris
The Houston Elementary faculty received a big boost in moral and understanding of one another on Monday afternoon at our faculty meeting. You are very generous to donate your time and talents for the benefit of our school staff. We greatly appreciate what you've done for us!

The hour and a half staff development training you did for us was wonderful!
Jerri Bone, the Curriculum Coordinator and person in charge of our district staff development, just called me to ask how it went. I was delighted to recommend that she look into your program for district-wide day-long training. After the Houston training on Monday, there was quite a "buzz7' around campus talking about what people had learned.

We all wanted to know about our co-workers' DISC Profiles. That really helped us understand each other. Some faculty members even went home and did this with family members! Now that's really carry over from a faculty meeting!

We've had our drawing for the Zig Ziglar CD's, pens, and Quotes books, and I'm planning to deliver those to the winners during my morning rounds. We've typed up a few notes from the meetings and shared those as well. I've heard people talking about practicing their self-talk. The power of that one training has been exponential.

Thank you from the Houston Team. We appreciate your time, your talents, your presentation, your use of humor, your generosity, and we even liked your Hummer! It's always fun to see someone walking the walk of what they are teaching.

Sincerely yours,
Cathy J. Weems Ed.D. Principal

Thank you so much for presenting the workshop. It was a lot of fun and amazing how the behavior profiles matched our personalities so well. We really enjoyed it!

Chris, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the workshop you gave here at Hyde Park. I have shared many of the stories and especially the DISC information. While traveling this weekend I took my book of quotes and read them aloud for my friends!! (Great insight with many of these!)

Chris,
Thank you for doing the workshop for us. It was very interesting to learn about the behavior profiles. That was my favorite part. Teachers always need words of uplifting encouragement. We are always made to feel that we don't do anything important because we don't make very much money. I feel we are doing one of the most important jobs in the world.
Thanks for the encouragement!

Sincerely,

Chris,

I have received a number of positive comments about the workshop. It was great. Thank you so much for taking the time to present the information for our faculty and parents. For the most part, I believe our favorite part was identifying our behavior styles. If I had it to do again I think I would like to spend more time on the styles. Please don't take that as a negative. It was wonderful opportunity for us, and we appreciate it tremendously.

Thanks again for the great opportunity.

I think you did a wonderful job on the workshop at Mayes Elementary.

Enjoyed the workshop, even though I have done similar things in the past. It is always good to have a "refresher" course to remind ourselves what we need to be doing to keep ourselves on the "better" side of things in our lives. I know I have other ways to keep myself having a good attitude, but I did appreciate all the things you said to us. Thank you for taking the time from your schedule to come to Mayes Elementary. I appreciate it.

Sorry it has taken me a while to get back with you...TAKS on the brain!

I enjoyed the presentation very much. It was great to get to know myself and my fellow teachers using the DISC profiles. Many were not a surprise! I really liked the "I like-because..." idea. I am putting it to good use tomorrow. I thought I would give me kids one per week. Tomorrow is math TAKS, so what a day to start!

Thanks again,

I truly enjoyed the seminar you held at Houston School. It inspired me to be a better person. I could not wait to get home and share what I had learned with my husband and children. My family is excited to attend the next seminar on April 20th. Thank you so much for this great opportunity. Have a terrific day!
